Happy Frog Week 🐸

It’s the last week of MLB’s regular season, which means it’s Frog Week. 2026 is the first inaugural, with many more to come as the tradition will only grow stronger in the years to come.

Joez: It was dope. We’ve met up a few times now: at Citi Field, at the World Baseball Classic, and now again when we were at this event. This time it was to help him promote his new Under Armour cleats. It was really cool.

The whole vibe of the day was dope because we're in inner-city Brooklyn, and they were giving kids new cleats, surprising them.  A lot of that stuff. So it was a really good vibe out there.

Joez: Yeah, I mean, I don't know — it's weird. I think they'll get by Boston, but I just have a little less optimism with this run. It's weird, man, I'm always optimistic, I always think the Yankees are gonna win until they don't — I have that kind of optimism. It just feels like the year we finally got the AL wide open, and as bad as it is, we're still not able to take full advantage. 

Our pitching is so good, and the hitting just isn't there. Last year Cole was out. This year people aren't hitting. We miss Bellinger for six weeks. Stanton out. Judge out. We do all of these things at the deadline, and the offense… still has more to do. 

It's just been a strange year. I feel like the East should've been winnable, and here we are, back in the Wild Card. So we'll see what happens there. Judge is probably gonna miss the Wild Card, but we’ll have to see what they do after that. 

Joez: Boston scares me a little because they can throw all these lefties at us. I do think the Yankees are the better team, but it’s… a short series to me is basically a coin flip. And this is a super short series. I've been thinking about it differently — I used to think the Wild Card one-game playoff was a playoff, but I look at this Wild Card round more as a play-in, if that makes sense. It's a three-game series, you're just trying to get into the ALDS.

Joez: I feel like Luis García is my guy. I feel like Luis García could be the big-time guy. Or, you know what, maybe Heliot Ramos gets it together and he comes through. We're gonna need somebody to really step up that isn't considered a main guy. I don’t know what they’re gonna do at third base. There are also decisions to make at second base. But yeah. Maybe Ramos because he’s a righty.

Joez: Yeah — if you get by Tampa, you go to the World Series. I've just never been sold on the Central. That's a no for me. You could technically face another AL East team coming out of the Wild Card if Baltimore get the third spot potentially.

But other than that, those guys are under .500 trying to win their own division, so I don't worry about those teams. In a short series, of course, everybody can win, but I look around — Houston's pitching is not scary at all. Not scary at all. Texas… no. Seattle… no. I don't have any fear there with those teams. White Sox is a good story, but again, I don't believe in any AL Central team.

Joez: I think I'm past that already. The only one left from that time is Altuve. All the other players that would've collectively made me hate that team aren't there anymore. No Bregman, no Springer, no Verlander. There isn't Josh Redick. I don't know why I hated him so much. I used to hate Josh Reddick — there was so much to hate. I don't have that right now.

Joez: It's way different. I thought American fans were the most passionate fans until I saw English football. They have chants for everything — it's the most unbelievable thing ever. And the way the Villans have welcomed me has been awesome. I need to get a new kit — I don't even have one yet. Getting to know the players, though — the way we started was tough, but then seeing them progress, get better, and start winning games, that's been pretty good. We just got our first Premier League win, against Zo's team! Tottenham! I don't even know if that's saying much, but the trash talk there is next level. I can see why it's the number one sport in the world.

I came to understand an appreciation for the sport versus how Americans look at it — even myself. I used to look at it like, "damn, they don't even score, bro." There's this anticipation, and when you finally score, it's a euphoric feeling you worked for. I think you get a similar feeling in baseball with a home run — happens in one second like that. But you're expecting to score in those sports. In football, it's not guaranteed — you've gotta be really good on offense to break down a defense, and when you do, that's like, wow.

A lot of appreciation for that sport now. I didn't think I'd be as into it as I am. So it's pretty cool.

Joez: Frog Week’s cool. I've been playing a lot of video games. A lot of people think I'm more into baseball than anything else, but I know about gaming more than any other subject in my life probably. So I'm playing a whole bunch of different frog video games, whether they're obscure or not, and just streaming and getting them out there so people can see what these frog video games are. 

Actually, I have a stream I'm supposed to be doing pretty soon — I don't know if you've heard of the game Only Up, but it's where you just go up, keep jumping and traversing your way up, and then you fall and start all over again. So I'm about to go stream that.

That's my Frog Week. I'm interested to see how this Frog Week thing grows, because I'm getting a lot of people just confused about it — people don't know what the hell is going on.

Joez: I don't know. But I think — yeah, it's like Shark Week. There's different kinds of frogs, I'll say that. A lot of different kinds of frogs.
